Woods Hole is a neighborhood of the city of Falmouth located in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, in the very southwest of the Cape Cod Peninsula. Woods Hole is known for a large number of marine research centers, including, for example, the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, the Woods Hole Research Center, the Marine Biological Laboratory, and the Woods Hole Science Aquarium.
Woods Hole is built around the enclosed harbour of Eel Pond in the very southwest of Falmouth, opposite the island of Nonamesset in the Elizabeth Island archipelago. Eel Pond Harbour has access to the Atlantic Ocean via a small channel, over which the Eel Pond Drawbridge is built. The bridge rises on schedule and allows boats and vessels to pass from the Atlantic Ocean to the harbor and back. The webcam shows the Eel Pond Bay from the Woods Hole Research Center.
